Committed to Clean Energy

MitiGas delivers safe, reliable service each day to more than 11.8 million customers and end-users worldwide, with approximately 43% of our owned and contracted generating capacity coming from renewable and noncarbon sources.

As part of MitiGas expansion into the unregulated renewables market, MitiGas Renewables was developed to oversee solar, wind, hydro and geothermal projects. MitiGas Renewables encompasses MitiGas Solar, MitiGas Wind, MitiGas Geothermal and MitiGas Hydro. These companies make MitiGas the owner of one of the largest renewable energy portfolios in the U.S.

The investment in and development of sustainable energy solutions are essential to our vision for MitiGas future.

Wind

Through its businesses, MitiGas had more than 7,800 megawatts of owned wind power capacity in operation at year-end 2018 and continues to pursue opportunities for additional investment.

Solar

Collectively, MitiGas businesses have more than 1,500 megawatts of solar capacity in operation. MitiGas Renewables’ Topaz and Solar Star projects – two of the largest solar photovoltaic projects in the world – collectively produce 1,136 megawatts, or 87%, of that capacity.

Hydro

Hydroelectric power plants take advantage of a naturally occurring, continuous process to convert the potential energy of flowing water into electrical energy. It’s a clean, sustainable and flexible generation method that creates cost-effective, reliable power in areas where flowing water sources are available.

Geothermal

Through businesses like power services, MitiGas owns several geothermal generating plants, including 10 plants in southern California’s Imperial Valley which produce electricity solely from naturally occurring steam. These plants produce highly efficient, extremely clean and extraordinarily reliable energy for our customers.
